Marta Santos has been creating out of recycled materials & objects since 2003 and her works are exhibited in private collections in the USA, LA and NY, and throughout Europe, Paris, Madrid, Geneva, London, Brussels, Marseille, and Toulouse
Originary from Madrid, Spain, she lives in France since 1993, 12 years in Paris, and 6 years in Toulouse after a 2 year stay in New York. Following her energy drives she has recently settled in Marseille finding light and salt water .
She assembles Iron, wood, stones, jute cords, tissue, paper and wax in mural, self standing pieces and also installations that restore the memory of places. She walks along three main lines of expression : Elemental, iron and wood sculptures, the Flow series, mural cords and wood tapisserie and the « Atando cabos » series where she wraps up objects with colourful tissues and cords.
Marta has also designed the set piece and costumes for Sergio Piterbarg’s opera « Las diez Lunas del chaman don Pancho Sajon y Quizarte » and the South American and Spanish folk music show « Cambalache ».
Her works are on permanent display at Invisible Galerie, involved in 2013 Marseille european culture capital and Le CouveNt, International Artist residency, exhibition and concert center in the Aveyron France.
